How to get to Aas

Flights from the UK

Ryanair flies direct from Stansted to Pau, which is the nearest airport at one hour's drive from Aas. Ryanair also fly into Biarritz - ideal for combining a beach and mountain holiday. Website : www.ryanair.co.uk

Overland travel

Driving to Aas from Pau Pyrenees international airport


Leaving the airport , take the first right on the roundabout signposted Pau

At the next roundabout , take the first right signposted Saragosse
Continue following the signs to Saragosse (Note: one roundabout is not signposted Saragosse - follow the signs to Bayonne on this one roundabout) .
Go through the towns of Jurançon and Gan.

In Gan at the roundabout take the second exit , signposted Vallee d'Ossau
Continue on the same road through the valley, past the towns of Rebenacq, Arudy and Louvie Juzon
(from Arudy on a clear day, you can see the Pic de Midi d'Ossau in the distance).
Follow the signs across all roundabouts to Laruns.

At Laruns go through the town centre, following the signs "Toutes Directions". At the T junction follow the signs to Espagne.
Start ascending the mountain.
At the next junction, turn left, signposted Eaux Bonnes and Gourette.

In Eaux Bonnes, follow the one-way system around the square and drive down the other side.
Take the second turning on the right (not Gourette, Col d'Aubisque), by the Hotel de La Poste.
Follow the road round past the Post Office, down the street and back up over a bridge.
On reaching the village of Aas shortly after (village entrance marked by a stone cross) take the upper right hand fork.
Pass the phone box , just after which there is a sharp steep turning to the right (first gear needed).
The house is the last one on the right, with double béarnais style natural wooden doors.
